Lonzo Ball noticeably changed his wardrobe for the Lakers’ NBA Summer League game against the 76ers on Wednesday night, and he (un)coincidentally had his best performance as a pro.
Instead of wearing Big Baller Brand shoes, Ball wore purple, Kobe Bryant Nike sneakers as L.A. topped Philadelphia 103-102 behind Lonzo’s 36 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and five steals.
He told reporters after the game he wanted a “Mamba mentality, just thought I’d switch it up,” according to Sports Illustrated.
At the time of the game, Lonzo’s father, LaVar, was back home in Chino Hills, Calif., according to ESPN.
Ball’s 36 points included a go-ahead, and-one layup to re-take the lead for the Lakers in the final minute.
