Did the voters do Avery Bradley a disservice, leaving him off both the NBA 1st and 2nd team all defense? NBA All Stars think so.
The NBA All-Defensive First Team was: Draymond Green, Rudy Gobert, Kawhi Leonard, Chris Paul, and Patrick Beverly. I believe those are all justified and there is a case that all of those players can rightfully be considered better defenders than Bradley.
However, the NBA All-Defensive Second Team was: Tony Allen, Danny Green, Anthony Davis, Andre Roberson, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. This is where Avery Bradley should be. He deserves to be on this team.
Avery Bradley received 12 first-team votes, more than Davis, Roberson, and Antetokounmpo combined. However, since the second-team only was only given two guard spots, he was left off the list. (Danny Green received 21 first-team votes and Tony Allen received 17 first-team votes).
It’s not only fans that are confused and surprised about the decision but also NBA players and coaches from around the league.
Devin Booker (@DevinBook): No Avery Bradley all-defense?! On the behalf of the players.. he deserves it!

Nick Van Exel (@vanexel31): Don’t care what team you put Avery Bradley on but he should be on All Defensive team. No question about it.
Jared Sullinger (@Jared_Sully0): How did Avery Bradley not make first or second team all defense ????
Isaiah Thomas (@Isaiah_Thomas): How the hell is Avery Bradley not on the all defensive team?? That’s crazy!!

Jamal Murray (@BeMore27): Avery Bradley got my vote.
Should the players get votes? At least for all defensive team, it seems like they would know best.
